Blue Moon Design collars are made to function as a choke collar. While they are not intended for training, they provide an attractive slip collar which is strong enough to hold most large dogs.
To select the correct size collar for your dog, measure around the dog's head, just in front of the ears, just as you would for ordering any choke collar. Add two inches to the measurement to get what you need for the maximum number(the second number listed in sizing). The minimum number (or first number in the sizing information) is the tightest that collar can draw up without hitting beads. Some people prefer the fit be fairly tight and some prefer a looser fit.
Blue Moon collars are not designed to use for tying dogs. It is not generally recommended that choke collars be left on dogs except when use as they can be a hazard by getting caught on something. Cord strength is rated at 450 lbs and the metal rings are rated at 200 lbs.
